Ever Wondered Why You Get Two Different Choices To Answer Calls On Your iPhone?

If you’re an iPhone user, you may have noticed that there are sometimes different options given for answering your ringing phone. Sometimes there’s the option to decline a call, but sometimes there’s not.
The first option that you’re probably used to seeing is the “slide to answer”.
option 2
And the second option. Instead of the slide, you get two separate icons -a red one to decline the call, and a green one to answer the call.
option 1
So why all the inconsistency?
The answer is pretty simple: If your iPhone is locked when you receive a call, you’ll be shown a slider to answer the call, with no option to ignore it. If your phone’s unlocked, you’ll get the option to either dismiss or accept the call.
And, because it’s Apple, there’s obviously a functional reason behind this difference. The technology giants opted for a slider option to appear when the phone is locked because it reduces the chance of accidentally answering a phone call in your pocket or in your bag.
And if your phone is in your hand, unlocked, being used, it’s functionally easier to answer with the tap of the button as opposed to the slide of a finger.
There is no option to dismiss the call if your phone is locked. To reject a call you can either simply press the lock button once to ignore it and let the call ring out in silence, or twice to actually decline the call.
